“Just once, I would like to wake up, turn on the news, and hear…’Monday has been canceled, go back to sleep.’” ~Unknown
Good Monday Morning, Friends! Konichiwa! I’m so glad to be back to blogging again! I’m sad to say I lost everything from my old blog. No worries though. Losing it all just means I can start all things new again! Even the name and new URL! So please pardon the dust as I work hard bumble along and try to whip this blog into shape once again! 🙂
I’m especially glad to be back to menu planning. Menu planning is essential in this house. Everything is in chaos and filled with unhappiness unless my family is assured I have a plan for feeding us. I’m your typical Sidetracked Home Executive and they know me all too well!
Our family eats mostly whole foods/vegetarian diet. We are not trying to make any type of statement, it’s strictly for the health benefit. We feel much better when we eat healthy. We have to eat chicken at least once a week to appease the meat-a-saurs in the family, though. Hey, I’m simply ecstatic my family is willing to try and be mostly vegetarian because they have seen the results! My kids (dd19, ds soon-to-be-9) love veggies so we eat plenty of raw fruits and veggies around here.
I have been “McDougalling” off and on for about 10 years. Dr. McDougall prescribes a no fat/very low fat, vegan diet. Ten years ago I lost 30 pounds, in about a month, with strict McDougalling. Three months after I started the McDougall way of life I found myself to be pregnant after a 9 year struggle of secondary infertility! It’s been 9 years since and my little bonus blessing is an ever-present testimony that McDougalling helps to eliminate health problems. Praise God!
I’ve now gotten to where I add some bread, eggs, cheese, and a little fat here and there since my family would rebel if I didn’t. I try to eat as McDougall as possible but it sure is tough when there are wonderful aromas like fresh baked bread or apple dumplings permeating the house!
Have a great week! And remember…“Fish are friends, not food!” 😉 Adios!
